First established as the “Central Six” in 1935, the Central Conference expanded to its current membership of 10 teams in 1982. We are dedicated to providing rich learning experiences for our students through participation in extra-curricular activities, focusing on leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, and fair play.
The Central Conference schools participate in a wide variety of athletic and humanities-based events throughout the school year.

It was a great year ...
The Seward Lady Jays repeated as state champions in cross country, recording only one loss during the season.
The Central City Bison pick up the state championship in wrestling, breaking Omaha Skutt’s 14-year streak in Class B.
The Crete Cardinals’ football team finished the season as Class B state champions in 2010 with a record of 13-0.
The Seward girls extend their winning streak to 75 games by capturing their 3rd straight championship in Class B.

Brad Larson was selected as the 2011 Girls’ Coach of the Year for the Central Conference. Coach Larson is the Girls’ soccer coach at Holdrege High School and was recognized at the fall conference meeting held at York Country Club on September 7th,
